Ecrit le 25 septembre 2008 par Thibaut/Joey L'ingénieux et aventureux Journal of Popular Noise, sortira son quatrième numéro contenant les vynil 10, 11, 12 le 8 décembre prochain. "CLIMAX GOLDEN TWINS Rob Millis and Jeffrey Taylor make up Seattle based experimental duo, Climax Golden Twins. In addition to a discography 45 releases deep, members of the band have been musically responsible for a range of projects in film, dance, theater, and visual art, among other arenas. These projects are as diverse as the sounds that converge in their music. Woven together by drone, field recordings, eastern dynamics and breaking glass – the compositions of Climax Golden Twins entice the listener with haunting complexity. PWRFL POWER Following the dissolution of his band Na, Kazutaka Nomura decided to refine his focus: constricting his work from genre-less abandon to more traditional song structures. The result is PWRFL Power: an unconventional marriage of melody and melancholy. This new direction appears to be Nomura’s departure from the noisy abyss of Na. It is instead a portal to folk-driven simplicity and musical naivete. In less than 2 years, he has played over 240 shows and shared bills with Daniel Johnston, Spoon, No Age, Mt. Eerie, White Magic, Dan Deacon, Beach House, Wooden Wand, Jana Hunter, Tiny Vipers, John Vanderslice, and countless others. LINDA & RON’S DAD Journal of Popular Noise veteran contributor Tyler Swan returns with new collaborator Derek Bourcier in the form of Linda & Ron’s Dad. This debut release form L&R’s D showcases their break-beat mixtape style, echoing the best of Stone’s Throw and Ninja Tune in it’s prime but twisted and updated for today’s party weirdness. Along side the common tools of electronic and sampled music, this young duo’s performance features live mixing of cassette tape samples via 4 separate tape decks. As the name proves as much as their ability, absurdity is no obstacle on their road to the sublime. " en attendant on peut se rattraper sur les anciens numéros qui deviendront très vite des pièces rares. www.popularnoise.netCatégories : journal of popular noise magazine |
